Engagement party question
We have decided that we are not going to register for gifts for our engagement party. I know that guest often bring monetary or other timeless gifts anyway. My questions is should I still set aside a 'gift table' or a box for envelopes at the engagment party?

I am not registering either and still setting aside a table..this way I don't have to worry about finding a place for them

Re: Engagement party question
I didn't register and i didn't set up a table either. I got a few boxed gifts. I just kept bringing them inside when people handed it to me (I had a backyard party at my house)

Thats what we hope too. Ladies what did you/will you do with your envelopes/cash as you received it at your e-party? Did you or do you plan to have a wishing well?

you can set up a table for the people that might bring gifts..with a box for the envelopes you may get...wishing wells are normally only used for your bridal shower

Re: Engagement party question
i didn't register, but i still had a card box and gift table. If you don't you'll have nowhere to put gifts and cards!

Re: Engagement party question
I just had my engagement party last weekend at Douglaston Manor, we did register..I have to say I got tons of presents and envelopes as well. D.M set up a gift table and held onto envelopes. Registering is good if you have a house or know of things that you would really like to have...

Re: Engagement party question
Don't bank on the money all the time...I know a freind of mine that didn't register and got a lot of crap she didn't like or want..it's tricky...most people know that money is the way to go but some people don't like giving it.. think about a small registery with stuff you know you want and need. good luck!!!

Re: Engagement party question
Hi,Congratulations on your engagement!!

I'm interested in having my wedding at Douglaston Manor and was wondering if you were happy with everything at your engagement party?
I'm going to a tasting on the 14th, but any advice you can give is appreicated.
Thanks,
