Spinoff to Should I register...

I have a question to all the ladies that have done their registry and have received gifts...

What do you do with your gifts? Do you store them until after you get married, or have you been using them?

I was never sure on this! TIA for the help

I am storing all our gifts in the basement and waiting until we are wedding to open them....but we don't live together so it's easier.

So far I only really got some of my China and my good silverwear... so I have been storing it in the China Closet...

We registered for a few things for our engagement party (at the request of some of our guests) I have stored everything at my FH house because he has the room to store it.

i have kept everything in its box for now. we are moving in together in march so then we will use everything. Its up in my attic

For now we have been saving everything we got. we are going to be moving this spring so we will probably start using the stuff then.
we really need a lot of the stuff we got so far so it makes sense for us to start using it.

Maybe the gifts i get when i have a shower I will save until after we are married.

FI's entire family bought us gifts off our registry. So we got a lot of stuff. Everything is being stored in FI's parents house until we get our own.

We are storing it for now. We live together and have everything we need, so the things we registered for (besides china and crystal) are upgrades. I want to keep them new for as long as possible!
