I am having my engagement party on Feb 25th and some people have told me I should register and some say I shouldn't because you register mostly for shower and engagement you mostly get monetary gifts.... so should I register or no?? thanks

Re: should I register for engagement?
We didn't - I felt the wedding was too far away to register. Most people brought money, or timeless gifts, like Lenox picture frames.

Re: should I register for engagement?
We registered before hand and we got a great mix of registry gifts as well as monetary gifts. My FH and I have nothing for a house since we both are living at home, so we were excited to get stuff for our new home. Also, since we set up our registry early on, we are finding other things to register for that we might not have thought about beforehand.

Re: should I register for engagement?
ok..thanks girls! Yeah we moved in together Nov 1st right after we got engaged and bought just about everything we needed. My FH wanted everything in order..so we don't really need that much...phewww I was getting nervous that we would have to run out this weekend to do a registry because we just mailed out the invites!

oh no no! That's why we are having it now.. we are looking at halls this weekend/next week but I really don't want to put a deposit down till right after the engagement party if I can hold out that long. I don't have a set date really.. We are very flexible with the date so I am not worrying that much about it. Someone suggested we do that after the Eparty. Hopefully you will get back what you put down at your party.

Re: should I register for engagement?
Our Engagement party is on the 25th too. Everybody keeps asking me where am I Register. I tell them that I am not going to register, that I would do that on my bridal shower. Plus we can use the money to help book some vendors.

Re: should I register for engagement?
My FH and I registered shortly after we got engaged mainly because our families kept asking where we were registered so they could purchase an engagement gift, and mainly because I was SUPER excited and just couldn't wait. Our engagement party will be this summer...a year before the big day!!

Re: should I register for engagement?
We registered for our e-party. We registered for basic things like pots and pans, bowls and stuff like that, that won't go 'out of style.' We ended up gettng a lot of nice things!
