How much credit card debt are you in?

You can remain totally anonymous on this one by just responding to the poll.

When I listened to a news report about how the majority of Americans LIVE off of their credit cards, it got me to thinking. Just how much credit card debt does the average American family have?

Me too. Never, ever have I carried a balance on a credit card. If I don't have the cash in the bank.... well, then I guess I have to save. I have a very high FICO score.

Credit card debt will strangle you financially.

I have to say too, that DH and I use our credit card for everything. We get airline miles for it, and always pay it off

So proud to also be able to say none. It was a lot of hard work. We had a lot of credit card debt, mostly DH's.

Us too. I carried a balance once in my life for a few months, while I was in school. But other than that, I've always paid right away. Those interest rates are crazy!

None, thank goodness.

Neither one of us ever put anything on credit cards that we could not afford to pay at the end of the month.

We have a mortgage and my law school debt.

I paid cash for my new car so that was not financed either.

I have none as well - I always pay it off every month. As for FH..........he has some debt, but he has second job and working hard to pay it off!

We carry a small balance here and there due to household expenses but for the most part we use AMEX for everything and pay it off at the end of the month. Love the miles.

I would say I have about $12K in debt-

I still have over a 700 credit score- my debt to income ration is throw off slighting b/c I have 2 cars in my name for insurane purposes

I plan to be out of debt with in the next 2 years- I only use Amex now and pay in full every month- but I am trying not to use that and use the money to pay down my real debt

None - Everything we put on our cards we pay off every month, it's our rule with finances. When it comes to our wedding we have paid cash for all of our vendor deposits and we will pay cash for all of the balances. We don't want to walk into anything with debt.
