LOVE SOUTH BEACH! It's the best diet I've ever been on.The first phase (first two weeks) are hard - completely cuts out carbs & other sugars, but you lose at least 10 pounds, which is water weight.

I tried it and didnt like it AT allThe first 2 weeks you cut everything sugar related--only drinking water. I was dizzy the ENTIRE time and did not lose any weight.
I was much more successful with weight watchers.
Lowering your intake of carbs is one thing. Cutting fruits and neccesary nutrients just never works

Re: NWR: Anyone tried the South Beach Diet????
I've tried it and was successful but the whole thing is NOT realistic. Plus, when you stop you gain the weight back right away! If you lose more than 1-2 lbs per week its water weight and muscle. Ive been walking and eating normally and have lost weight and have kept it off pretty easily for over a year! My doctor was the one who told me 2 get off South Beach because he thinks its a 'fad diet' that is just not good for you.Good luck with whatever you choose.
