If a celebrity wore your dress before you, what would you do?

I just learned that a celebrity (I won't say who) wore my dress on her wedding day recently. I would never have gotten it had I known the dress would be getting so much publicity. What if FH sees it and says it's awful? And I feel like it takes away from my day, b/c the dress will be something people have seen before. I am calling the salon to find out what options i have in changing the dress. What would you do? And am I overreacting?

I think its no big deal at all. I bet most if not all of your guests will have NO idea. It wouldnt bother me either.

ETA: I wouldn't mention this to your FH, or show him any pics asking his opinion. if heaven forbid he makes a face or doesn't like it, you will definitely want a new dress and probably be out of some $$$!

your FH will LOVE your dress, mostly because YOU are in it!

I would not worry about it too much, your guests probably will not even notice.

I won't lie, it would bother me a little. Only because I've been trying to keep my dress a secret for so long from my friends and family and especially FH and for it to be publicized everywhere would be a real downer. Maybe you could just have it changed a bit.

A celebrity's wife wore my dress and I didn't care. I loved the dress so much that it didn't matter. And most people don't know what you are talking about anyway. Only brides pay attention to stuff like that.

Are you kidding? If a celebrity wore my dress before me, I think it would be the coolest thing ever! What a conversation piece!

I don't think its a big deal either. My dress was in a recent movie, but I really haven't told anyone for them to notice.

The only problem I've encountered is that my FH wanted to see the movie. I actually had to tell him why he couldn't watch it, but he promised not to see the movie and I know he won't.

In any case, I don't think you should change your dress just for that reason, particularly if you love it. Just be happy that you have such good taste!

Normally I wouldn't worry about it, however if your fh doesn't like the dress then I might try to change it or sell it and buy another one.

I agree nobody is paying attention to bridal gowns except brides to be.

Not only has one celebrety wore my dress, but a few of them have. It was a popular design by monique lhullier. My DH could have carred less who else wore it. He was not looking at wedding magazines with me. He was just happy that I was happy.

Yea I agree. Def. do not ask your FH's opinion. Enjoy your dress! In a way, its sort of cool that a celeb. has the same taste as you. You picked it 1st so she copied you lol

Please don't take me as a smart@ss but when have you noticed a man looking at a celebratey magizine? He most likely will never see it. So what if some movie star, pop singer, or whatever wore your dress, its going to be your dress on your wedding day! And when your FH will lay eyes on you in that lovely gown, he'll fee like the the luckest man alive. Don't give it any more thought. Hey at least that celebrity had good taste.

oh, and to the original poster - I really wouldn't worry about it. Nobody is even going to know. I know I would never in a million years recognize a dress because a celebrity wore it to her wedding.

You picked that gown for a reason - it shouldn't matter who else has worn it at all - it's YOUR day, and you will be GLOWING!!!

Hey if you wanna here something funny, a friend of friend of mine told me that at a wedding she went too the bride had to buy a new dress at the last min, because a major porn star wore the same dress for her wedding. She had to change it last min, because even her FIL's had seen the picture. Her FMIL pointed it out to her, of what a lovely dress that woman is wearing, too bad you picked out your dress already. You see it could be worse, much wores!

I dont think your FH or anyone else will even realize that a celebrity wore your gown. I dont think you have anything to worry about. If you love your dress you should keep it.
