Re: ceremony reading?

That's a nice idea!
I think I have to have bible verses read, but I'm not sure. Are you getting married in a Catholic Church?

Yippee a fellow Hamlet bride!!!!

i am getting married at a methodist church. It was actually my fiance's idea to have a poem or literary piece as the first reading... it will be read by my cousin and we're having his cousin read a biblical passage before the sermonette.

Re: ceremony reading?

DH and I each picked one reading for our ceremony. This is what he picked.
Sonnet LXIX by Pablo Neruda

Maybe nothingness is to be without your presence,
without you moving, slicing the noon
like a blue flower, without you walking
later through the fog and the cobbles,

without the light you carry in your hand,
golden, which maybe others will not see,
which maybe no one knew was growing
like the red beginnings of a rose.

In short, without your presence: without your coming
suddenly, incitingly, to know my life,
gust of a rosebush, wheat of wind:

since then I am because you are,
since then you are, I am, we are,
and through love I will be, you will be, we'll be.

I used to work at the Hamlet Wind Watch and we would get to eat the leftovers from golf outings and such and I can honestly tell you that the food is very good.

Re: ceremony reading?

I'm still looking. If you run a google search for 'wedding ceremony readings' you will get a bunch of hits. I have it narrowed down to three. All of them on my home computer, not here at work.

No, not yet, but my mom is hasseling me to schedule it! I am a vegetarian, so the tasting is wasted on me...
