Ugh! I think this is so mean...I hope he's kidding

I was looking at my FH's myspace page, and in the comments I wrote something like 'As the woman you're going to marry in 5 months, I should leave a message. Hi', and one of the GMs wrote 'If there is a 'wedding', lol. There's 5 months to put a halt on it.' I really hope he's kidding! Of all of FH's friends, I think he may like me the least, but my FH always says he likes me if I comment that I think he doesn't.

That was mean, but some people have sense of humors that most don't like. I would probably be upset too!!!

I would ignore him, commenting back will give him the satisfaction that he got to you. He's probably just jealous that his friend is getting married, he thinks he won't be hanging out with him anymore etc etc. Boys are silly like that.

It's kind of too late for that. I wrote

'Um, thanks guys. I thought you were happy for us '

I said guys because after his comment my FBIL and him commented back and forth about still having the bachelor party regardless of if there's a wedding. I'm sure my FBIL was kidding, though.

I know how you feel. FH and I were at our company party, talking to our boss and telling him our upcoming date. So he says something like '6 months away, time for one of you to come to your senses!'. I was really upset by that but couldn't really do/say anything, FH said he was kidding and I was just over-analyzing it. That's prob true considering we were drinking, FH said if he thought our boss was serious he would've punched him!!

So the moral of the story is not to worry about it, guys aren't exactly known for their tactfulness!

Alot of people say stupid crap like that & think they are funny. Don't take it to heart, he was probably trying to make you laugh.

Yeah, but it is hurtful to think that he actually might feel this way, if only a little bit. He shouldn't be jealous because whenever we're in town we all go out together. It's always been this way. I always go out with his friends and him. That wouldn't change.

Don't pay any attention to him. Some people are ignorant and never have anything nice to say.

Some people are so rude he is probably jealous that you two are happy and feels like you will be taking up all his time and that he won't be able to hangout and things lilke that. I get comments like that but I get them one of my SIL now thats bad.

Guys are so strange sometimes - they really don't think before they speak. When I met FBIL for the first time his comment was 'well, at least she's not blond!' - I've since learned that he's not too swift w/ the lines - but it still leaves me to worry about his best man speech!

That is an a $$ hole thing to say, much less on a public space. I would tell your FI to take it down if it bothers you.

I myself joke around like that a lot...about my own wedding. I think it depends on who it comes from. In your case, I would take it to heart, since you're not 'chummy' with him.

but don't be too upset about it...just be happy that your fh is so much more evolved!

My FH has a best friend like that. He thinks hes f*in funny. It always annoys me. If I were you I would tell my FH to talk to this guy and tell him to not write stuff like that because it upsets you.

I agree with both Tara & Jess.

I'm am one of those 'mean' people - FI asked me what I wanted him to engrave on my wedding band...my response: '12/24/80 - 04/30/06'....

Don't take it to heart...boys will be boys and LOVE tossing around the BS....

Yeah, I guess. I mean we're known each other for over 6 years, and go out together and generally get along fine. But do you ever get the feeling that someone you socialize with deep down has issues with you? Even if it's that you're not their favorite person? I sort of feel like that I guess. So this comment bothered me. But I guess from another of FH's friends, and it wouldn't hurt so much.
