How long before your wedding did you look at and buy your wedding bands?

I will probably have to go to a jewelry in NYC and have the wedding band (ideally eternity band) made for me. When should I start looking? When should I be sure to purchase it by? Thanks for your advice!

I would start looking between 3-4 months before the wedding and purchase 2 months before. I have an eternity band too and I

love it!!!

If you have the time and $ now, just get it over with.

When you find something you love, just buy it and keep it at home.

I can;t buy it with cash until July... money is locked up in a CD. Can I charge it with most jewelers???

We're getting married in June and we just ordered ours this weekend!!

We've been looking for about 2 months. It might be a little early but I'm picky and they need the time to make FH's ring bigger bc of his size. I figure if you find what you're looking for then get it, better to be ahead of the game!

A lot of times though if you buy with cash they don't charge you tax.

We're looking now. We're 11 months out, but we figure we can put payments on it as we go along, and since it may be a big expense (eternity band), we can see what we pick and work it into our budget (what budget?)

A lot of times though if you buy with cash they don't charge you tax.

It's against the law to not charge sales tax on jewelry because you pay in cash.

Any jeweler will accept credit cards, and it's actually better that way, because if anything goes wrong, you have more protection with the CC than with cash.

As for when to buy, anytime is a good time, as long as you have the time and the means. I got his ring back in November and mine last month.

when we purchased the rings we had them sized for us. This way they came in the right size when we ordered them. It also helped for engraving. It took about 3 and a half months from when we ordered them to get them and have them engraved.

Check with the jeweler. A lot of places allow for a certain number of free sizings for the life of the ring.

When you find a ring you like, get it! There could be a lot of sales coming up for Valentine's Day, you never know.

I looked at wedding bands like eight months before the wedding, I picked one out and my husband's had to be ordered. I went back months later to pick up my husband's and when I seen mine again (the exact one I picked out) I was horrified at my choice. I really don't know what the hell I was thinking. I ended up telling the jeweler I would only be taking my husband's band. I still don't understand what I could have been thinking with that first band. I ended up getting my real wedding band about three months before the wedding.
