Re: anyone had, or having wedding at bridgeview yacht club??
That was the first place FI and I looked at. It looks nice in the pictures, but when we went there,it stunk like beer when you walked in(total turn off ). I grew up in Island Park, and been there when it was Sprats etc. I just couldn't imagine my reception there. The smell alone killed me. Not to mention the fact that the reception room is basicly a sturdy tent. Don't get me wrong. Two of my friends had there wedding there and had a kick *** time, but it just wasn't for us.To each his own, but for the price they were charging a head, we found a MUCH better deal with 7 courses and a more elegant surrounding. Lots of luck to you though.I'm sure you'll have a blast!!!!

My brother's wedding was at the Bridgeview Yacht Club 2 years ago and it was fantastic. The service was excellent, the food was delicious, the reception room was gorgeous and the entire staff treated all of the guests very well. Your wedding will be beautiful!

Don't be influenced by other people's opinions. I have been to horrible and wonderful weddings at the same halls. YOu made your decision for a reason, and you should be happy with it. I have been to two weddings at Bridgeview. One was very casual (they had a Hawaiian theme with cocktail waitresses in bikinis, you would have to know the couple to understand!) and the other was formal. It rained on both occassions, but the cocktail hour was in the first building, the rest of the party in the main room. I did not notice a bad smell at all. I remember the CH having a lot of food and being very good. For the formal wedding there was only a salad and then the main dish, no appetizer or pasta. Also, for dessert I don't remember having cake, but I do remember a tray of cookies on each table. I think you will have a wonderful time, and if you have concerns with your hall discuss them with your BM and resolve them beforehand. Don't be discouraged by what other's say. Best of luck!

I went to 2 weddings there - both were very different but both were great and a lot of fun. One was a buffet, one a sit down. One was lacking food at the cocktail hour and the other had an abundance. I think it was just the packages each couple chose - one probably could afford more than the other. I liked it though and loved the feel of that tent-like room. But I think the place is great - your wedding will be gorgeous!

I have nothing but positive things to say about BYC. We were married there in MAy 03. Unfortunately they couldn't control the weather, ans it wasn'y a great day.THey went the extra mile for us. They stocked Guiness for my dad
The food was outrageous. People actually said they had the best wait staff at our wedding - weird.
The place looks fabulous, and it looks even bettter now (the front was revamped since our wedding)
We initially worked with Kathy, and some people find her brusque, but she is just factual and efficient. In the end we had met Eric too. In fact we livein the area still and often bump into Eric and he still recognises.
After our wedding, my sister booked a party for her DH - it was buffer in the upstairs room, and it too was great.
FM me if you have particular questions.
WE sued mormile too and tried to book a Current Affair but they were booked. We used Mystic and they were great

We went to a wedding at Brideview last spring and had a great time! The food was delicious. The bride and groom chose to have a buffet and all of the dishes were very yummy! I think the main room is very pretty. It's simple and you can 'dress is up' or keep it casual and it will still look great. I've heard a lot of great things about Brideview.Welcome New Vendors
