MY DRESS - safe at home (pics inside)

After nearly a year since I started looking for and fell in love with this same dress I picked it up today.

My dress search

I tried it with a crinoline and then with a hoop skirt. I am going with the hoop skirt. These pics were just for show. The dress was not laced up in the back at all (just snapped in one place). It fits much better than it looks here

This was the first fitting - no crinoline or hoop but it was laced up completely.

The hoop made a HUGE difference. Thanks to DayBeforeThanksgiving for posting crinoline versus hoop skirt pics of her wedding dress

FH does not live with me and he is not normally a snoop but FH did confess to snooping for my dress a while back - the initial dress that I bought and then sold on ebay. I am pretty sure this will stop him if he snoops and ultimately finds the dress.

He was warned by his Aunt Robbi to stay away from the dress

I did not tell him that I was picking up the dress. He still thinks it is at the bridal shop

I have a ton of blankets that I keep in the closet so I hid the dress behind them. I figure if he opens that closet, which he never does, that he will just see blankets as usual.

And I put my folded veil on a wire hanger I got from the dry cleaners since all of my hangers (huggable hangers) have black felt covering. I was told not to leave it in the bag since the wrinkles might get worse

FH knows that I have the veil here in the house so if he sees it there he will probably not think to look for anything else in the closet.

Thanks so much ladies. I searched high and low for my dress. When I first fell in love with it Maggie Sottero was not even making it in white on white. I asked her about it a few times and she said she was not going to customize the dress at all (it had only pink beading). I went as far as to have someone try to make it - what a disaster

Lo and behold, Maggie started to make the dress in all white

FH will feel so guilty for snooping that I am sure the sign will work

He won't even know what he is looking at if he does attempt to open the bag. He would be afraid to take it all the way out of the bag anyway for fear that he'd ruin it

Wow, you look amazing!! I am getting a Maggie too and after seeing you with the hoop skirt I am thinking I might do it too. I'll have to search for that old post you were talking about
