honeymoon--cruise around hawaii??

i've been on 3 cruises and i LOVE them. we're thinking of cruising around hawaii for our honeymoon because we really can't afford the hotels i want and we could see more islands that way.

anyone ever done this or looked into it?

Re: honeymoon--cruise around hawaii??

I Looked into it for ours on the Norwegian Cruise Line. It wasn't too expensive. THey have a golf package that my FH is dying to get, so we will most likely do that for a week, and than maybe stay on one island for a few extra days...

Re: honeymoon--cruise around hawaii??

that's what we're thinking of doing as well. and we're going to san antonio for a few days first.

it seems perfect for what we want and although i'm very familiar with and love cruises, i have no experience with norwegian or hawaiian cruises in general

I have never been on a cruise at all (but I did just win one for February!), so I'm not really sure about a hawaiian one, but it does sound great...

Re: honeymoon--cruise around hawaii??

We did the 11 night Norweigan Wind around Hawaii as part of the honeymoon. It was a great way to see all of the islands, and now I know where I want to stay the next time we go back!

FM for details.

We looked into it also. It seems like a really wonderful way to see all of the islands.

Re: honeymoon--cruise around hawaii??

My parents went on the Norwegian boat that sailed around Hawaii, and left out of Honolulu. They had a great time, and said the boat was really nice. This was not there first time in Hawaii. They said it was nice to be at a new island everyday. The boat they went on actually got relocated, but it was definitely a Norwegian.
There are actually two Norwegian boats you can choose from, I think the ALoha and the Pride of America. The pride of America is new, and looks really nice. We almost went on a cruise, but decided to just stay on land in Hawaii. We go on cruises a lot, and wanted a change.

Re: honeymoon--cruise around hawaii??

I think it's one of the best ways to see Hawaii. You get to see so many islands, you unpack only once, and you'll save a ton of money on food since all of your meals on the ship are included.

My brother did this for his honeymoon (it was 9 years ago, but still) and he loved it. He went on Carnival, but I've also heard great things about Norweigan.

Re: honeymoon--cruise around hawaii??

We're looking into this too right now. We most likely will do the cruise that leaves out of Maui but get there a few days early and stay in Maui because I heard that there is so much to do there and I don't want to miss out.
