No after about 6.5 years, I think he already knew. I think he knew I didn't care either way.

Re: Did your FI ask your family's permission for your hand in marriage?
My FH asked my parents two weeks before he popped the question and like most 'old school' italians, my dad gave him a long speech
I felt sooo bad when FH told me what he had to go through...but one cute thing he told me was something my dad said...at the end of the speech hmy dad hugged FH and told him welcome to the family and he said even though I'm really happy , I'm also really sad to lose my daughter
my dad's never been the emotional type so to hear that really surprised me

Yup, he asked my dad. We were all out of town and actually tricked me to go to the car so he'd have a moment alone with my dad :)

He asked my dad, whose response was 'what if I said no?' and FH responded I would ask anyway...needless to say my dad said yes, FH and him get along VERY well!

Unfortunately my dad is not in the picture. But when my oldest brother(who was basicly my father figure since I was a child) asked Darren when he was going to make a woman of me, Darren had said well with your approval by the end of the year. This happened right in front of me, and low and behold on our 3 year anniversary he finnaly asked. Sorry this is sooo long, I guess I just wanted to let you guys know, that although I don't have my dad, I do have someone that cares just as much.
