Past and Future brides
Past and future brides I need your oppions and advice. My wedding is at 7pm, and it is in the same place as the reception, so there is no time in between for pictures other than the cocktail hr. FI wants to take pics before becuse he said that we would get more relaxed pictures, we wouldn't miss the cocktail hr. I on the otherhand don't want to see him before the ceremony. Bottomline he said that it is my desion. What should I do???? I am so torn because I know he has valid points. Thanks

Re: Past and Future brides
I felt the same way as you, but my photographer told me that actually, it makes things so much calmer seeing him before, its more intimate, and we won't be missing any of the party we have been working so hard on planning... So I decided, okaaayyy...My FH's best friend also did the same thing - she didn't want to miss the cocktail party....

Re: Past and Future brides
I have seen your concern posted so many times before.I can't tell you what to do, but I can share my experience with you.
DH and I spent 3 hours before our ceremony taking pictures on the grounds of our beautiful hall! the pictures our photographer took in those 3 hours are by FAR my favorites from the whole day!!!!!!!!!!!!! Our photographer captured our 1st meeting and made it very special! I have to say, seeing DH and spending all that time with him before the ceremony really helped calm me down. so there were multiple benefits to taking pics before.

Re: Past and Future brides
Seeing DH before the ceremony totally calmed me down and I was glad we spent the entire day together. I'm also glad only the photographer and my parents were there when we first saw each other. I'm glad we had a private moment. We were able to take tons of pics and enjoy then entire reception and cocktail party. Even though I saw DH before the ceremony, I was still nervous about the ceremony and was very emotional. Seeing him before didn't take anything away from the excitement of walking down the aisle.

Re: Past and Future brides
I am also in a similar situation. My wedding is at 5:30pm and my ceremony and reception are at the same place. I definitely don't want us to see each other before i walk down the isle. I don't know what it is about that walk that i love so much (not that i've done it before). But, i like the idea of the anticipation and having him see me from afar walking towards him. I don't want to miss that look.
So what we're doing is... we'll both be at Gurneys, me in the bridal suite and him in our room for the night. And my photographer is coming at 4pm and taking pictures of me with some family and/or bridal party. Then she's going to take some of my FH with his bridal party & family. That way, once the ceremony is over, we can take one quick shot of the whole group and then enjoy the cocktail hour. (i'm not a fan of the posed shots so it will be rather quick).
