private home, outdoor wedding - need help with invite wording

do I need to specify on the invite that our wedding will take place outdoors?

our wedding will be in the backyard of my sisters house. the ceremony will be on the deck, and the reception under a tent.

for instance:

Laurie & Victor

invite you to join them in celebration
of their love and commitment
as they become husband and wife

Saturday the 19th of August
6 o’clock in the evening
in an outdoor ceremony
at the home of Michael and Susan Smith

do we need the line in bold? do you have a better suggestion?

we are doing a reception card... should that information be on there? how would you word it?

edit - cause i put the bold text in the wrong place

Re: private home, outdoor wedding - need help with invite wording

We're doing the same thing - outdoor wedding at a private home. We are not including any kind of special wording on the invite itself. However, on the direction card we are including notes about parking, and guests wearing low shoes due to the stairs they will need to go up and down.

Our DOC also suggested creating a website with all the 'special' information and including that when we send out our STDs.

I agree, you don't have to put an outdoor ceremony in the invite.

my wedding is also outdoors and i have similar questions. please let us know what you decide!
we haven't done invitations yet, but i did indicate on the website that everything was outdoors and that women might want to wear low heels.

I think we are going to leave it to the website... I figure its August, and its at someones house - people will infer that it is outside. I thought of putting something like 'looking forward to celebrating with your under the tent for a night a cocktails... etc etc' so that they get its under a tent on the reception card. But that sounds weird 'under the tent'.

anyhoo - yeah we think we are leaving it to the website. I will post them when they are done. We have to do our early cause I am running them at the same time as I run my save the dates.

thanks Hollie for checking for me!!

The wedding & reception are kind of formal though - like not backyard BBQ informal - but not black tie formal either.
