Shower/Bachelorette Weekend Vent (lil long)
I wanted to have my Shower and Bachelorette Party all in the same weekend because 2 of my BMs (and some other friends) are not local and that way they would be able to go to both things.
But...the 2 local BMs that are planning it are saying its going to be too much for them to try and do it all in the same weekend. Which after hearing their explanations I understand, but now I don't know what to do.
I guess I could just do a mini-bachelorette for all the people that are there for the shower (like dinner/drinks) and do a real one the same night as FHs? I don't want to have 2 though, ugh!

Re: Shower/Bachelorette Weekend Vent (lil long)
I have a similar problem because me and 2 of my BMs are out of town. We're going to have a separate shower and bachelorette party, but to make it easier on them, we'll make the bachelorette party about a month before the wedding so when they come to NY they can also get their BM dresses fitted. I feel better making the trips more efficient for them.

Re: Shower/Bachelorette Weekend Vent (lil long)
I am in teh same predicament in terms of wanting it teh same weekend b/c my MOH (sis) live sin CA, i have a BM in PA, one in Jersey etc. I was talking to another local BM teh other day about it and she basically said, don't worry about it - we will work it out amongst ourselves b/c it is not for you to stress over....If I were you, I woudl explain to your BMs that you want everyoen there and let them handle it...mayeb tehy can spread them out so that out of town ppl can make two trips in for each...

Re: Shower/Bachelorette Weekend Vent (lil long)
I did that for my MOH wedding b/c of her OOT BM - shower in the afternoon at 12 or so and b-party at 8 or so. We agreed that the shower wouldn't be a surprise tho (there were many reasons for that but she also wanted her OOT BM there).
I thought about it for my shower but I made 2 trips for my OOT BM events- PA isn't too far. My problem is planning the rehersal and dinner with the OOT BM!!
Your idea for a mini b-party is good. Your OOT BM will just have to understand- if the reasons are good it'll be fine. Maybe they really want to surprise you? It's more important for the BM to attend the shower so don't worry!

Both my BM are OOT. I doubt either one of them will be attending either a shower or a bachelorette party. I'm just dealing, since it was my choice to ask both those women to be a part of my bridal party, knowing perfectly well they probably wouldn't be able to do much of anything.
