When are you and DH thinking of starting a family?

I can't believe how many people have already asked me when DH and I are going to have a baby - we've been married for 9 days!

I know 8 people right now who are pregnant, so maybe there's something in the air - but it got me wondering - when are you and DH thinking of starting a family.

We're both 32 and depending on my job search, we're thinking of starting when we're 34 or 35.

Well I didn't fall into the poll.. I am lareday having a family.. and it was a planned thing.. we were trying since I am already 30 and he is 34..

We weren't looking to start for a couple of years, but have been bit with the baby bug. We're hoping it'll pass because we need to focus on a career change for me first.

I am 28 and DH is 30 although we too were asked when were we planning to TTC immediately after we came back from the HM we decided to wait about 2 years. I would like to have a career and we would both like to be better off financially before we have kids. Besides I am supposed to be in a few bridal parties in 2006 and 2007 so the dresses need to fit. Lol

I don't fall into the poll either. I always thought I wanted children - I think it kicked in really, really early for me. But now, I don't know. I would be fine if it were just the two of us. I feel like, for me, we just waited too long for everything. I told DH, before we got married, that my feeling toward having children was changing. He wants to have children. I love kids - LOVE them. It's not even that I'm not 'ready'. I think I was ready, and now I'm passed it. Weird.

Also was asked as soon as we came back from the HM.

Would like to start trying in a year...so Summer of 07 could bring us a little healthy blessing.

We're not thinking of it just yet because we want to travel and just be 'us'--but possibly in 2 years.

DH is going for his MBA so right now, unless unplanned, is not an option.

Same here. Both DH and I are dying to be parents, but with all that transpired this year, we want a year to relax and enjoy being married to eachother before having little ones. But we're no spring chickens either, so I definately feel my clock ticking!

after i finish my masters - 4 years from now.

Although, my best friend just had her first baby, and I am feeling the TUG, big time! THe past few weeks I'm thinking 'Well, we could time it so i can have the baby at the end of one school year so i can have the summer to be with it before i go back...'

Realistically, it will happen when we are financially secure and can handle one of us staying at home for at least a year.

Going into our marriage we both felt that having one another would be enough. I'm 37 and DH is 39, so we're just grateful to have found our soulmate at all

We have both agreed though that if either one of us changes our mind, or if it happens by 'accident', we will welcome a baby. We'd just have to rethink our other plans for career and exetnsive travel.

you're lucky though... with us it's the opposite. I want one soon and he doesn't even want to discuss it yet. meanwhile, neither one of us is a spring chicken!
