Re: Dont want to invite children HELP??
On the reception card write 'Adult Reception' - that's what I'm doing. My sister did it and it worked for her too.

Re: Dont want to invite children HELP??
Good luck with the OOT and family-My FSIL is not speaking to us because we did not want her kids at the reception-she lives out of state and at the time was planning on being in the BP with FBIL-

Re: Dont want to invite children HELP??
My sister had this same problem. She got married in Maine where my parents have a summer home, so every single guest was travelling from out-of-state. She just addressed the outer envelopes to Mr. and Mrs. Such-and-Such and the inner envelopes were addressed just to the couple as well. She also had my mom spread the word that children weren't invited. My mom called the people that have children and let them know that if they were planning on bringing their children to Maine for the weekend, she could provide the phone numbers of some babysitters for the night of the wedding. I thought it was a very polite way of saying, 'Your kids aren't invited,' without actually having to say it.
Every single guest except for one had no desire to bring their kids. They all said that they were excited for an 'adult-night-out.' The only guest that had an issue with it was my mom's sister who ended up not coming, but she's pretty much a b!t*h anyway, so no one was surprised. HTH!

Re: Dont want to invite children HELP??
Dont say you dont WANT children. If people ask, tell them that its a money issue
or if its an evening reception tell them it runs too late for children to attend
