Brides getting married at a church....
What time is your ceremony and reception? Is it possible to have a morning ceremony and an afternoon reception? or is that cutting it too close?

Re: Brides getting married at a church....
no.... there is plenty of timewe got married and here was the timeline (for the sameplace ceremony and reception)
4:30 to 5:00 (ceremony)
5-6 was cocktail hour for our guest (we did pictures)
6-10 was the reception
we didn't do a receiving line due to time constraits (sp)
being that you have more time to work with, this will allow the guest to drive over to the reception location..

Our reception starts at 1:00 p.m.
How far apart are the church and reception?
Are you going somewhere for pictures in between?

It is 11 miles from the church to the reception hall, probably about a 20-25 minute drive. We are just taking pictures in the church and in the photo studio at my hall. If the weather is nice enough, we might take some photos on the grounds at the hall, but no additional stops.

Re: Brides getting married at a church....
my ceremony is 10:30 and cocktail hour starts at 12:30. I'm actually worried their will be two much time in there b/c the ceremony is 1/2 hour (if it starts on time)

Re: Brides getting married at a church....
We are having an 11 ceremony and a 12:30 ch. I know it's cutting it close, but we loved the place and my church won't start any earlier. So no stopping anywhere for photos. But FH's family is all from out of town, and we are providing bus transportation from hotel to church to reception so it should work out better in the end

I am having a 5:30 ceremony and 7:30 starts my CH. No receiving line for me. I'm going straight to Land's End for pictures and hoping to make some of my CH. We'll see....

Re: Brides getting married at a church....
Are church will be at 3pm and the reception at 6. I had a choice of having the ceremony anytime after 2:30 (on a Sunday). I am not getting married at a Catholic Church, so they are not so strict with the time.If it is a Catholic Church, they usually give you a time.

Re: Brides getting married at a church....
Our ceremony is at 3 (not a full mass, so it should only be a 1/2 hour) and our CH starts at 5.

Re: Brides getting married at a church....
Church (full mass) starts at 6pm, CH starts at 8:30pm. The Church and hall are about 10 minutes apart but I'm not going to stop anywhere to take pics. There are plenty of places to take pics at my Church and at the hall.
