Patchogue area

Does anyone live in Patchogue who can give me an idea of what areas in Patchogue to look for houses?

I have heard Canaan Lakes area but are there other places to look (or stay away from)?

hi.. i grew up in patchogue and my rents and family still live there.. I would try to buy something north of sunrise or north of south ocean avenue and the sound... many of the houses in the areas mentioned above are much nicer and in a better area. If you cross over sunrise, there are some areas near saxton middle school that are good...
