Got a problem.....

Can you ladies give me some advice. I am getting married at The Douglaston Manor. Also my reception is at 8:00pm. It's July 8, 2005.
What are my guests going to do while I take pictures. What time should I have my ceremony? So that It can still be Daylight for my pics

Re: Got a problem.....

What time is your CH? You should check out the sunset times for that day, I think they're on the Navy website, I'm not sure though. I think you might be alright as far as daylight, that's about mid-summer. But usually, you have a CH while you're out doing pics.

Re: Got a problem.....

I don't know what to do with my guests either! The church starts at 5:30, and will proably run until 6:30, then the cocktail hour starts at 8. What are people going to do between 6:30 and 8:00??? I'm so stressed over this!

Re: Got a problem.....

Some guests go back to the hotel to rest and freshen up. Some guests like to go out and hang out at a coffee shop, or bar. Remember, most of your guests haven't seen each other in a long time. (Whether they are friends or family) For OOT guests, leave areas of interest, with directions, in their OOT goodie bags.

Or, you can leave a map like that at the back of the church (or wherever you're getting married) with areas they can hang out during their down time. Have your attendants mingle with people during your receiving line to answer any questions they have. They could even have the maps in hand to give out.

Re: Got a problem.....

If you're having the ceremony and reception and DM, then just give yourself enough time for the ceremony (1/2 hour - 1 hour) then another hour for photos. I would suggest that you take pictures during the cocktail hour if you are concerned about your guests. Your wedding is in the summer so the sun will just be setting around that time so you can have some great shots of the sun set in your photos, very romantic.
