All Chateau Briand & Fox Hollow brides - a question...

I am wondering if you can tell me what the Perfect Wedding Planning planner has done for you? I just booked at CB and apparently it is a complimentary service... I am wondering if you can share opinions on this or experiences.

What can I expect!?

Re: All Chateau Briand & Fox Hollow brides - a question...

I not using perfect wedding planner. In my experience more than anything else they tend to push their house vendors too much, and the guy I met with, I forgot his name, I think it was James wasn't all the nice once I told him that the house vendors were too expensive in my opinion. Just a heads up and just my experience.

That is what I figured! They have been calling me nonstop - the house vendors, and I agree, they are way too expensive for me too!

I hope there is not a problem!!!

Re: All Chateau Briand & Fox Hollow brides - a question...

I went to a planning seminar and found it very helpful/useful. Also, I used PWP for my invitations (which were PERFECT) and flowers (which were not perfect, but beautiful), as well as just general advice and help and venting.

Christopher Manuel, their floral designer, was my favorite vendor, even after the wedding because he made up for the less than perfect flowers like a true professional. Also, he's an absolute DOLL and so much fun to talk to. I also dealt heavily with Giovanna, but sadly she's not there anymore. I ADORED her.

They weren't an *integral* part of my planning process, but I found them useful. Certainly as a complimentary service.

Re: All Chateau Briand & Fox Hollow brides - a question...

We have met with James from PWP a number of times and he is great. He has not once recommended a house vendor at all. He has set up appointments for us at florists and for photo/video. They have someone right in his office who does flowers, but he set up times for us to meet with 4 other vendors. House vendors are expensive, we look at others as well.

Last time we spoke to him was at the Bridal Expo in Nassau Colisseum last month. He told us that he got so much buzz from his clients, that he was contacted by Style Network and signed a contract to do 3 episodes of 'Who's Wedding Is It Anyway'. If all goes well, he may get signed for a year. For his paying customers, not associated with Fox Hollow and CB, he does all of their planning from going to appointments with couples, to helping to set things up the day of the wedding.

We are going to meet up with him again next week. He keeps us up to date with where we should be on the timeline to our wedding, and advises us on what we 'should' have completed by such and such time. So far, for us, we have found it to be a helpful service. We also intend on getting our invitation from them as well.

Re: All Chateau Briand & Fox Hollow brides - a question...

I only did my initial meeting with them. I spoke with James who was nice and not too pushy with the house vendors. He also gave me a checklist to see where I was (I started planning my Feb wedding in Sept so I had to get a move on!) So far his advice has been good. I hear mixed things about him tho. I think some of the more negative were from when he first started tho. I hear that he's Monica Scotto's friend and that 's how he got the job...he's fine now tho! I heard that they only set up appt with house rec vendors so I didn't use that service. I also didn't want to feel obligated to tip anyone else! My schedule is crazy and James wouldn't have been able to help with appointments because of that anyway.

They give you a nice folder which I'm using to keep my contracts in and they give you a sheet for your non-house vendors for their insurance requirements which is very important. I rec you see them at least once. I was very poilte and sometimes lied and said that I was still considering people, etc. No attitude that I saw!

I'm probably going to use them for invites- they give a discount for Fox Hollow brides. He's been good to me so far! Let me know what you think if you go to them. Oh, and to the person who asked if they are free, surprisingly, yes, they are. Which may mean that they overcharge brides so much they can afford to provide this service!!
