Pumpkin picking (nwr)

do you guys know of a place to go pumpkin picking on LI that actually lets you go into the field and pick one yourself, rather than have the pre-picked out in the open to just be picked up and weighed?

Harbes farms in Riverhead along Sound Ave.
There are a few farms out there where you can do that.

I went pumpkin picking on saturday..my pumpkin weighs 150lbs! If you are on sound ave you will see the place...all of the pumpkins are on steroids! You cant miss them.. but all over sound ave there are places where you can pick off the vine. That was my big complaint to, I hate when they truck them over..takes some of the fun out of it

We go to stakeys in aquebogue...it is awesome and we go every year. You go and pick the pmpkins right off the vine and it is so much fun.
