Cancun Honeymooners-Please read

Hi Everyone,

I work for American Express Vacations/Travel Impressions. I just wanted to let you all know that Cancun is a disaster. We are not selling any vacations there until next year. They are hoping to have everything built up again by Christmas, but it does not look like it is going to happen. The hotel strip is just in shambles.


I am going to share a pdf file with you guys, which is available online, so you can check the status of your hotel. I hope it helps.

Thank you so much...well it looks like I'm screwed...My resort will make any changes for people with reservations until December 20th....Now we have to find another HM location.

im staying 5 nights at the El Dorado
Here is what they say:

El Dorado Royale, a Spa Resort

First impact assessment: NO STRUCTURAL DAMAGE HAS OCCURRED. Several villas were flooded (first floors only). All pools are filled with sand, and significant parts of the hotel grounds are covered with sand and debris. Several thatched roof palapas have been damaged.

Estimated opening date: With no structural damage reported, the current estimated opening date is November 08, 2005. The hotel will be closed for arrivals before this date.

Im waiting to here about Secrets.....

Im staying at el dorado royale in july so Im sure it will be ok.. I will def pray for hose of you going to mexico in december though

For those flying AA, check the website, it looks like you can change destinations if you are flying up through January, not sure about the other airlines but hopefully they will follow suit..

So spoke to my TA today and she saids Cancun is not going to be up and running till JANUARY!!!!

So we have to cancel our HM and pick another destination....

Now were looking at Italy instead!!!!!
