Bridal Reflections nightmare ..(sorry very Long)
I bought my dress from Bridal Reflections a week ago, at the time I was happy with the service. The lady assigned to me was very pleasant, the sample dress was really huge on me, and she pinned it on me, in a way that it look like it was my size. I loved it!! They also happen to have the Jim Helm dress I chose for my BMs, so I asked what price they would sell them for (I am buying 9 dresses). I was told by the owner of the store that I should come back with my girls and have them try it on and then we could speak about the price. And that since I am buying a lot of dresses and just bought an expensive dress from them that she would really work with me on the price. Well I made an appointment to come back a week later. When I went home I realized in all the excitement of buying my dress I forgot to take pictures of myself I my dress. So I called and made an appointment to try on my dress again & take pictures, they said fine. Well I showed up for my appointment and they couldn’t be bother with helping me, they didn’t even have a person assigned to help me at all, they just told I could use one of their dressing rooms. My sister had to pin the dress but was not able to because the dress was so big on me, after bugging them for a while they finally sent a girl from the BM section to help me, she was very sweet, but it was obvious she did not have the skills that the bridal sales people, who had previously helped me had. Needless to say the dress was sitting on me terrible, it just looked awful. Which is making me second guess my choice of dresses.
I just have to keep reminding myself that when the dress was pinned on me right, I really loved it on.Anyway if that wasn’t enough, when it came time to speak to the owner about price she would not come and speak to me in person she gave sending someone else, after about 10 times of asking to speak to her she finally did. She tells me that the best offer she cam give me is a 5% discount, I told her that I had made phone calls to about 20 other stores that carry this dress and all agreed to give me a 20% discount because I was buying 9 dresses. She then proceeded to tell me that she believes the other stores may be selling counterfeit dresses. The other stores I may add are very reputable in the bridal industry Adrienne’s, Here comes the bridesmaids, Kleinfeld’s Bridesmaids Loft, Lillettes, I can go on, like I said I called about 20 of Jim Helm’s distributors for quotes, they were all willing to give me the same discount, give or take a couple of dollars.
One more thing, I noticed when I went home my dress receipt said 11/15/05 as the order date, I purchased the dress on 10/15/05. This made me nervous because when I purchased my dress they said it would not come in until March, well if they don’t order it till November then it would not come in till April, my wedding is in May!! I asked them to please change the original copy of the receipt and show it to me, they said the original receipt was in a locked office and the person who has the key was not in that day. They changed it on my copy and assured me that my dress had been ordered.
I know now that I was stupid to not speak about the price for the BM dresses BEFORE
I bought my dress (which I may add was not cheap).
Anyway I wanted to write this to give you girls a heads up on this store, and too vent a little. I really am not looking forward to going in for my fittings. I was considering buying my veil from them, now I will never use them Again!!
Sorry for the Long post, thanks for reading it.

Re: Bridal Reflections nightmare ..(sorry very Long)
aw I'm so sorry.... hopefully it will all work out with your dress -- I'd call back again though and really make sure they changed the date on the other receipt... and order your BM dresses elsewhere! was this the BR in Massapequa?

No it was the Carle Place store. I definitely plan on dropping by next week to make sure that they changed the date on the original receipt.

I'm sorry you had such a bad experience with them. My FSIL bought her dress from them and the only thing I can say was the seamstress was a bit abrupt with her. Other than that, it was fine. I guess it depends on when you go and who you meet with. I would have thought the owner would be more accomodating. Where are you going to buy your BM dresses?

Sorry to hear about your experience, but on the brighter side - once pinned and alterered, you'll look PHENOMINAL! Secondly, we ordered Jim Hjelm dresses (5 in total) from Valentina's in Brooklyn, and they offerred $10 off each dress after 4, and alterations are included.

Re: Bridal Reflections nightmare ..(sorry very Long)
I am sorry you had that experience. I ordered my dress from them and 7 bridesmaid dresses. They gave me 5% off the girls dresses and capped their alterations at 55. I think the alterations was a deal. Another bridal store had the BM for 10 cheaper but would not cap the alterations. It is a give and take. I am sure your dress is beautiful! It will all work out. My cousins all got their dresses from there and the dresses were great. No bridal store is perfect. They all are busy and can mess things up. By the way, I was in Bridal Refections yesterday and one girl was yelling at a worker, for really no reason. Just be glad you don't work there. Some of their customers are beyond rude!

I'm sorry to hear of the bad experience! I bought my gown there and my BMs are getting their gowns there as well. We had a minor snafu last week in regards to the BMs, but BR kept right on top of it and followed it through. I'll have to see how it is when our gowns come in, but right now everything is going just fine.

Re: Bridal Reflections nightmare ..(sorry very Long)
I have mixed feelings about BR in Carle Place. When I went dress shopping, BR had the best service by far and I really loved the experience. Their dresses are beautiful. I also got my BM dresses there and my headpiece, which I loved. However, I felt that a lot of the items were incredibly overpriced and although they are willing to 'work' with you, what they offer isn't so great. In addition, some of the saleswomen in the BM area were rude. For the most part, I liked working with Lee (seamstress). However, my BMs had different seamstresses who did not seem as competent. The BMs were definitely treated differently, and if I had to do it over again, I probably wouldn't have gone there for BM dresses. I was mostly satisfied with the service I received for my dress though.

Well I decided to use Addrienne's for a couple of reason's. First they are giving us 20% each dress and capping their alterations at $60(although most of my girls are going to their own tailor) and I have to ship some of the dresses out of state and they are also capping that at a flat rate. And the final reason is they have a store in Manhattan and in LI, and since some of my BMs are from NJ, PA, Queens & LI it gives them more options as to where they want to go get measured. But alot of the stores were really willing to work with me on the price, even Kleindfeld's, which tells me they are not loosing money on the dress if they give a 20% disc., they just know how to do good business.

Sorry to hear of your experience there. So far they have ben nothing but great to me. They knocked about $700 or so off my dress, $100 off my headpiece and $10 for each of the BM dresses. I suppose everyone's experience is different.
