Good Waxing?

Can anyone recommend a good waxing spot in NYC? For brows and bikini. I heard really bad reviews on the J Sisters, so I am nervous to try them. Right now I go in Queens, but I need to change.

Re: Good Waxing?

I went to Allure Day Spa for the wedding and got my legs waxed as well as a brazillian. Not only was it economic but the whole experience was great, considering the pain. http://www.alluredayspa.com/home.html

ETA: For eyebrows I highly recommend you do threading. I LOVE NY Threading Salon at 795 Lexington Avenue 2nd Floor (bet. 61st & 62nd). 212.688.9600.

There's nothing cleaner than a threaded brow, IMO. And it's $7!

Thanks! this is my first brazilian experience, so I want to go to a nice place. I just looked into 'completely bare' and they seem to be pretty expensive. You are always so helpful.

Her name is Asia (pronouced As-e-ah) - FM me for the info!

ETA: all my friends and co-workers from the TRI-STATE Area go to her.

You're so welcome! I also looked into Completely Bare and Bliss for my wedding, but a knottie suggested Allure and I was very pleased. It was also my first time (it hurts, buy the numbing spray, although I did full so maybe that's why (sorry TMI)) but my DH was happy! And the soft music and aromatherapy help a lot!

And I have been threading my eyebrows for about 10 years...LOVE IT!

Re: Good Waxing?

I went to Bloomie Nails on 2nd ave and 7th. Myabe TMI, but I had my first full brazilian there before my wedding and it was so much less painful than I expected (and had experienced at some other places with semi-brazilian). i used Lynn. She was great. It's not cheap ($65), but for the wedding, it was totally worth it.
