Need advice for DIY cake topper

Ladies,

I purchased a 7 inch monogram for my cake topper. I am trying to figure out approximately how many crystals I'll need. For those that did them, about how many did you need?

Are you covering the entire thing w/crystals?

ETA: for one entire 7' letter you will need approximately 144-150 crystals, size 5mm, 7mm, and 3mm.
