Free clinic? or low cost options?

A friend of mine thinks her cat might be sick, but unfortunately she cant afford to bring him to the vet right now. Does anyone know of any low cost or free clinic that I could refer her to? She is in Nassau by the way.

TIA

Have her call the Humane Society or the ASPCA in NYC, they are great about giving advice on low cost vets even outside the city.
