NWR:how much do you give at a 'work' baby shower?

So we are having a surprise baby shower for someone at work. She's the coordinator of my program and we're friendly, but not outside work. I already got her a baby toy before I knew about the shower, so now I'm thinking of getting something for her. Since we go to the same hair salon I was thinking a gift card there. What's an appropriate amount? The toy that I got her was one of those Lamaze ones, so it was a small gift. About $13 or so.

Thanks!

I always go out to the Riverhead outlets for our work babyshowers. We do all of the babyshowers from the entire year together so it gets pricey! Carter's/Baby Gap/Ralph Lauren sells the CUTEST baby clothes out there at such great prices. I try to keep it at $15 per person.

It depends on how well I know the person. If I don't know them very well, I agree on the $20. If I know them well and we're friendly, I may go up to $50.

Re: NWR:how much do you give at a 'work' baby shower?

We don't see each other outside of work. But she is very sweet. When I got engaged she gave me all of her old bridal magazines since she just got married. We chat about what's going on in our lives (wedding, babies, etc). So maybe $25 or 30. Is a $25 gift card to a salon a nice gift? It won't pay for a cut, but it will take a load off the price.
