Advice for brides getting married in church
I am a cantor at a catholic church and this weekend the bride was 1/2 hour late. She was lucky we didnt have a mass after her wedding but it was very unfair to all who were working at the church.Just advice for everyone(including myself on my wedding day) try not to be late to the church... 10 min is fine but 1/2 hour is just not fair to all that are there to try to make your mass wonderful!!

Re: Advice for brides getting married in church
Sometimes its really not the brides fault!!! I was at a wedding this weekend and the bride was late.. because the photographer kept making her pose for pics in front of her house!!!

Re: Advice for brides getting married in church
I experienced this and let me tell you I was starting to get frantic. We showed up as told, 15 minutes prior. DH and family showed up 45 minutes prior.... we were not allowed into the church for almost 25 minutes after when we should have started!!!!! All our guests were stuck sitting around the front of the church and what was even worse there was a mass after our wedding so we were basically given very little time to do photos.

Re: Advice for brides getting married in church
I would never be late, and if you have a good photographer and limo company, they know how to time things. It reminds me of Noelle on Bridezilla who was an hour and half late for her wedding, then complained that it was cut short, HELLO, you know about this day for ever, be on time. I work at catering hall, as many of you know, and I see brides all the time who come in late, then demand we add on time. It so rude, don't blame it on anyone else, its the couples fault.

Its a wedding day, so much could have gone wrong, hair and make up took forever, limo was late, traffic, dress issues, crying, sleepless night, etc.... I'm properly going to be a mess on my big day!

I understand things could go wrong, but I was at a ceremony this past June where the bride showed up 15 mins late and people were getting annoyed. Not to mention that the poor other bride whose wedding was after my friends had to wait outside with her guests b/c my friend took to long to get ready! It's rude and not right! Traffic is on thing but make a sched! If you know what time your ceremony starts don't make a hair and makeup app't for an hour before! JMO I think it's wrong!

This is my biggest fear that we will be late....I know there are things beyond your control but I am going to tell everyone earlier times so hopefully this won't happen.

Re: Advice for brides getting married in church
Has anyone seen that show bridezillas? In one of the episodes, one of the brides is over 1 hr late to her hair appt and ends up 1 hr late to her ceremony
... The priest had to cut her ceremony down to not even half of it because there was another wedding after her AND she sat there and complained to the cameras that the priest did not include anything she wanted and it wasn't the ceremony she wanted at all! HELLO!!! You were an hour late!!! Some people....
I would be absolutely annoyed if I was a guest at her wedding!!

i wonder how she didn't give herself a heart attack!!! there has to be some level of nervousness and excitement that would totally spin me into a full blown anxiety attack if i was a whole HOUR behind schedule -
seriously i think it would kill me.

Re: Advice for brides getting married in church
My church is charging me a 'Late Fee' which I have to pay up front and if I show up on time I get the fee back. If not the church gets $300 for my tardiness. I know I will not be late!

My Church does this also..I think alot of them do this b/c it really isn't fair not only to the guests, but to the poor bride that is after you. Can you imagine if someone before you is running an half and hour late! Your whole day sched. will be competely thrown off, it's not right...it's good that they have a fee.
