I had the same problem. I was so scared because u have to get these things months in advance, so finally my mom found a dress at estelles.

My mother bought her dress just a month ago, about 2 months before my wedding. She got it off the rack at Eva's in Sayville and had the alterations done by a seamstress I know. It's all ready for her now

My mom thinks she has found her dress.. she tried it on and then was ordering it.. Hopefully it gets here soon or else I know it will upset her..
Don't worry, there the moms they know what they are doing..

I think I would faint if my mom or sisters took a genuine interest in my wedding. it's been the same BS since day 1.

my mom bought hers last sunday at estelles and doesnt need ANY alterations.......

My mom just got hers a few weeks ago - she kept claiming she was waiting to lose more weight...lol...my fmil can't seem to find a dress she likes for under 2k!

Have her check at estelles. We looked there for my moms dress and they have a pretty good selection.

Sugar Plum in Lynbrook has really nice dresses. My Mom got hers there. Bought it off the rack. Actually was on the sale rack too! $500 dress for $99!!

Hmmm, well you know my story. I bought my mom's dress 2 days before the wedding...she never even saw it.

But yeah, you have time. David's, Sugar Plum, Macy's, Bloomie's all have off the rack.

Hang in there D - I PROMISE, this is all worth it!

My mom just got her dress this weekend (I went shopping with her). She got it off the rack at Macys. They definatly have some off-the-rack dresses there that are appropriate i.e. not too flashy but have some beading, etc. to be fancyish.

ETA: It was around $120!

my mom and fmil both got their dresses at lord and taylor off the rack..... both very nice- fancy, but not over the top- perfect 'mothers of the couple' dresses

and ON SALE!!!! i think they each paid about $60!!! my moms was a silver 2 piece with a little shimer on the top.... fmils was a hunter green with a low back... both very nice!
