REPOST from BHB -Reception Prices - long sorry

Since I want to get married in 2006...you girls have a better idea on quotes...Thank you in advance.

Hello...I'm sorry if I'm posting so many posts regarding ways to save but this wedding business is tooooo expensive and we simply can't afford it. I'm ready to elope

I have two questions:

1) From your experience in hunting for reception halls what places quoted you from $40 -$65 per person?

2) If I go to these place 4-6 months before the time I want to get married do you think they will lower there prices significantly or maybe add things that can save me more money?

I need a place that holds approx. 200 guests, rather have an outdoor ceremony, I want a simple yet beautiful wedding...so I can get a nice arrangement (doesn't have to be big) for centerpieces, don't need a limo, won't have a bridal party, will have my wedding on a friday afternoon or Thursday evening. The video and photgrapher is the ONLY thing I'll pay top dollar for....I know the place I want will cost me $5000 for both(maybe less if I do it on a Thursday that price is for a Saturday. I'll do my own makeup. Simple hairdo...off the rack dress....you name it I'll do....

By the way these were ideas given to me by some of you girls...THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!

I just want to have a memorable day

Re: REPOST from BHB -Reception Prices - long sorry

all depends on the time of year...

try Stewart Manor Country Club
Verdi's of Westbury
Westbury Manor (daytime probably, off peak month, but on the high end)

I really like the Stewart Manor Country Club. the price was great and James is a really nice guy. I definitely think you should check them out.

Good luck!

Re: REPOST from BHB -Reception Prices - long sorry

The Swan Club quoted me $50 for a Friday night in Feb. The girl said during peak season it usually between 65-75 for friday night/sunday day

Re: REPOST from BHB -Reception Prices - long sorry

Plenty of places can definitely meet you at the $60 range....considering you do an off peak season (not May through October) and not a Friday or Saturday Night. You can look into day weddings and even Sunday's.

From the Places I've checked out:

Stewart Manor Country Club (though not a fan of their CH area, but their reception room is great) will definitely come in at $60

Swan Club (nicer grounds and beautiful all around) will also come in at $60

Fox Hollow can also come in around $60

Jericho Terrace is worth checking out

and finally, Crest Hollow
