HAIR AND MAKEUP FOR THE WEDDING DAY

hi jaime I just had a trial w/ Louisa Agate. she is the one that does the airbrushing makeup that was in newsday. I loved it. I did it on the day of my engagment photo session, so i haven't seen the pic's yet. but i was very happy w/ the way I looked and my makeup never came off and never smudged. I too am getting married in the fall and she is coming to my home. I will be doing a trial with patti, from the same place. They are in european image salon. The number is 516-364-3736. ask to speak to Tracy. She handles all the hair and makeup bookings and she can answer all your questions. Good luck!

Isn't it ironic...

I just realized that the assistant Tracey of European Image is Tracey74 who posts rave reviews about Louisa Agate constantly! Funny isn't it?

Do these people really think they are fooling us? If you do a search on Tracey74 posts and the one above you`ll notice she basically words each post identically just under different names. Girls, ya think she gets a commission on the brides she brings in? HMMMM?? Do us all a favor a take your soliciting to the vendor board!

i am really interested in booking a trial w/ louisa, based on the positive feedback posted by tracey. i should have put 2 and 2 together when i called to inquire about prices and she said to ask for tracey when i call back to book the appointment. i wonder if louisa asked her to post those messages. seems to me that if she is so well-know and popular among the 'stars' she wouldn`t need to solicit business on this board. that`s why i am so weary of everyone, but the 'regulars' on this board. don`t know who you can trust!

An idea for LIWeddings.

Which brings up an interesting idea for LIWeddings... Can they implement some sort of a reputation system? Basically give us the chance to rate peoples responses to help newer folks distinguish who is credible or not...

Well, I have to admit I wasn't so savvy to put 2 and 2 together. Although, I have to say Tracey 74 always did annoy me and seemed very cocky in her postings. Anyway, I can assure you I am a real Bride. I am getting married November 3rd. I did try Both Patti and Louisa. I booked them both. I was more than pleased with The airbrushing. I took photos when I was done and my skin truly looks awesome. Like you were born with great skin. As for hair, we only did one trial. I am not sure if that style I am going with , but I do believe that Patti will do a great job as well. I have to say, of all the important decisions I have had to make planning my wedding. This was most important to me. Not to sound at all conceited, I have always spent a lot of $ on my hair and my cosmetics. I have my hair done in one of the finest NY salons ( have tried others, when I moved to LI). It was most important to me and to all of you what you look like on your most special day. Even though Tracy may have been shady, you can take my word on it Louisa and Patti are very respectful and professional.

I wonder if Louisa and Patti know that Tracy is doing this. It would be a shame if some brides could miss out using a very talented make up artist because of her stupid assistant.

thanks for the advise! i am booking for my friend and paying for her. we will probably do the trial anyway. this really annoys me though. does the makeup feel heavy on your face? she doesn't wear much makeup and doesn't want to look like a clown or feel like she she is wearing a caked-on mask. the way i look at it is, it's worth a try. this is a once in a lifetime event and you want to look your absoulte best, it's pricey but hopefully worth the extra $$$.

Just out of curiosity, why aren't you using the salon you go to regularly?

Airbrushed Makeup???

I've never heard of airbrushed makeup until now. How does it work and does it feel funny? I've only used airbrushes in art school, never on someone's skin. I would think it felt wierd. Tight and dry??? What do you guys think??? Thanks!

My Salon

well, this is actually for my friend whose wedding is this summer. unfortunately my salon only does hair, not makeup and the stylist doesn`t travel. so, in addition to makeup we also have to find someone that does hair. ideally i would like to find someone that is multi-talented (hair/makeup) and travels. i am doing the research for her because she lives upstate and i am going to pay as a part of the wedding gift.

The makeup feels really light, it doesn't feel heavy at all. The application actually feels very cool. I wear my make up very natural as well In pictures I have to say it looked awesome. The idea of looking that put together at the end of a very long day is really what sold me. I am sure there are many great make up artists out there, but none can make your make up stay on perfectly for the whole evening without a touch up. Just as a test, when I went to my sisters (didn't want him to see me) I wiped my face on a black t-shirt. It didn't come off. It was very kool. I know I sound like a commercial, I don't mean too. Try it and let me know. Curious what other 'real' brides think.

I go to Frederic Fekkai in the city regularly. I am getting married on LI. I agreed with my mom and it will just make for a smoother day if we don't have to deal with traffic to and from Manhattan and any other mishaps that my happen.

Wendy, do they airbrush all the makeup, or just the foundation??? How do you wash it off?

OK-Here's the deal. She puts on a moisturizing mist on your face. Then she sprays on the foundation. She then sprays on the blush. She used a sponge to blend the blush. She then sprays your eyes. She did use some regular eyeshadow as well. She used a real eyeliner, real mascara and real listick. She also uses a little regular translucent powder to set everything. As for washing it off, it is makeup, it's just applied differently. Simple soap and water did it for me. If you do it let me know what you think. Good Luck.

Question for Wendy

Wendy, I`m interested in having the trial. My main concern is enough coverage. Would the airbrushing cover up imperfections like acne scars? Or is it too light on the face and not enough coverage. Thanks!
