Does anyone know how to set margins in MS Word?

I'm trying to print up my menus which are 5.5' x 7.75' using an HP deskjet printer.

when I move the paper feeder bar, the printing is not centered.

Help!

You have to set up the main document as that paper type. Do so in word by going to 'file', 'page setup' and then choose the paper size or set the margins...good luck.

I KNEW you would be able to help! I did set the document size as 5.5 x 7.75, but it's printing off the page anyway.

Did you get it to work? Align the printer, if you haven't already. What size is the paper?

the size of the card stock is 5.5' x 7.75'

oh, you didnt' say that
you want to tell the printer and/or word the size paper you have... (custom and enter the size)

Yes, you want to set up the paper size...it defaults to 8.5 X11, so do page set up, paper and then set up the paper size. In order to align the printer find printer properties and under 'Advanced' click on 'Printing Defaults' and go to 'Services' and the 'Service this device'. Good luck!

thanks. I give up. either the HP software I have is missing something, or I'm just not able to figure it out. I even went to the help section for the printer and it told me to look for an advanced tab under printing prefrences, there was no advanced tab

There is an advanced tab; I have HP too. See my directions above...FM if you need help. Don't give up! I printed my menus and it took a WHILE to set up but I eventually got it and my cards were smaller and really thick...it CAN be done!
