Honeymoon Poll: All Inclusive, or Cruise ...come vote
Hi Everyone,I'm still trying to decide on a honeymoon. I still have plenty of time but this is my latest (and most drawn out obsession thus far about the wedding)
Do we go with a CRUISE, or SANDALS?
Please vote, what would you do?
The cruise is a bit less expensive and we'd get to go to more than one island. (7 night western carribean)
The all inclusive is a restful, probably more romantic choice. (Sandals Royal Bahamian)

Re: Honeymoon Poll: All Inclusive, or Cruise ...come vote
Can I make a suggestion! Why western Caribbean and not Eastern. I travel a lot and find Eastern Caribbean to be much nicer.I am not crazy about Bahamas, but have never been to the Sandals resort there.
What cruise line, that could help also.
I love cruises and vote for that!!!!!!!!!
P.S. I am not trying to be mean, just trying to help

it's a personal choice. I prefer to go to a resort and stay there.... soak in the sights, etc.ETA: friends of mine took a western Caribbean cruise a few months ago and said it was ok. the only thing they saw at each island though were t-shirt vendors everywhere.

thats funny...we actually did BOTH things on our honeymoon!!!!!
we stayed at the sandals for 5 days and then flew to miami and took the western carribean cruise. we LOVED the cruise the best!!! sandals was nice, but by the fourth day we were ready to leave. it was relaxing but got a little boring towards the end. the cruise had never ending things to do....let me know if you have any questions...i could def. help you!!

have you been on a cruise before? i recently went on a cruise for the first time, and found that cruise vacations do not suit my personality. i was also sea sick. i was relieved to find that out, instead of booking one for my HM and not havign a good time.but if you have already been on a cruise and like the experience, i don't think you can go wrong with either choice.

I personally love land vacations- I get seasick had to take bonine after the 3rd dayof my past cruises , but I like to go on cruises too b/c you see more but for a HM its really a personal choice if you want relaxation or do you want to have to run each day from port to port to sight see the island- we are doing both- we did 11 days in Aruba back in june and next month doing a 8 day Med cruise out of Italy-I am hoping the waters are calm- have to stock up on that bonine!!!!!!

As much as I love cruises i voted for the royal bahamian.I've been on carnival cruises a few times and although it was fun there are LOTS of kids and they were all very crowded. There are lines for the buffets and i remember we had to get up at 7am just to get 2 lounge chairs next to eachother by the pool!
Plus, I heard sandals in the bahamas is amazing!

we chose western because FH is a scuba diver, and Cozumel is #1 in the world to go scuba diving.I would definitely be doing Royal Carribean cruise lines

I voted for the cruise. I am leaving on Sunday for one actually!I did the western carribbean for my HM and it was great. We love cruises...you really can't go wrong. There is always tons of stuff to do and you don't get bored since your not staying in one place the whole time.
There are plenty of places on the ship to be alone if the two of you want to get away from everyone, and you can request a two person table in the dining room (not a problem especially if you say this is your HM).
Most importantly....you must get a balcony! This is one of the best parts of the cruise for me. Nothing like sitting in the middle of the ocean watching the sunset with a pre-dinner drink on your private balcony. Very relaxing!
I can't wait to go on Sunday!

I love cruises so I voted for the cruise. Both HM look like a lot of fun. Just one piece of advise- if you go to the Bahamas- do not leave your resort. The locals are very poor and do not leave you alone. They harass you until you buy from them or get your hair breaded, etc. That's another reason for cruising- you get to see a lot of islands rather than just one!

First of all, if you go to the Bahamas it is totally safe to leave your resort. Yes, you will get asked a million times if you want your hair braided, but that is true of so many of the islands. Yes, it's annoying, but it's certainly not a reason to hole up in the resort. That being said, I've been to the Bahamas many times and it is not my favorite destination. There are alot more picturesque choices out there. The beach at the Sandals resort may be slightly disappointing to you, the water is very clear and beautiful, but it is not exactly a private setting. I believe you can even see the road from there. I would go with a cruise over the Bahamas, but I would definitely look into Royal Caribbean before I went on a Carnival cruise.
Good luck.

We made a similar decision for our HM. We have done many of cruises before & absolutely love the fact that you are in a different place everyday. The cruise can be just as relaxing as a resort if you make it that way.We went to the Bahama's but the Sandals & personally, I was not impressed. It was an island that I could not wait to see & honestly I would not go back.
if you are not a big drinker, then cruises will give you the best $$ value.

I think that the cruise is definatly the way to go...you really have the opportunity to spend alot of quality time with your new husband. My fiance and I have been on two cruises together so far....and we plan on spending our honeymoon on one as well.

I picked the all inclusive. My parents just got back from Norwegian Cruise Line leaving from NY going down to the Bahama's and were in the middle of two hurricanes.Your HM is still in the hurricane season, and trust me, you don't want to be stuck on a boat or being redirected to Nova Scotia/Canada/Holifax if they can't go to the Carribean.

I'm not a fan of cruises -- I picked the resort.
