Name Change Q - which comes first?

I can't believe it's been almost four months and I still haven't finished changing my name.

For those of you who've completed this awful process, how did you handle car-related changes? For example, I have my license, registration, title, car loan and car insurance (not to mention my parking bill and records with the car dealerships and maker).

Which comes first? Does it matter?

Social security first.

Then DMV.

If your take your marriage license and your new SS card to DMV you can change your license and title (if you own the car outright).

Call your car insurance company. I did mine over the phone. WE had called them before the wedding to inquire about getting on DH's plan. They may require a copy of your license to adjust your rate.

Just make a list. Call everyone first and see how much you can do over the phone. If not type up a form letter and mail it out with a copy of your license to any others.
