PASSPORT QUESTION

my travel agent told me that we now need a passport to fly. so i have to go get one

my question is do i get the passport with my maiden name(my tickets say my maiden name) and change my last name when i get back from the honeymoon

or

do i get my passport when i get my marriage lic this way i can have my married name on itand just bring my B.C & MARRAIGE LIC with me?

if i keep my maiden name till i get back i have to pay another 100 bucks to change it to my married name?

I would have it match your name on the tickets! My passport will have my maiden name on it! It takes time to receive a passport, so I am not sure if you will want all that stress so close to your wedding if you wait to get the license.

Ditto! My passport has my maiden name, and that's what our tickets are going under.

You also won't be able to get your passport with your married name until you're actually married.

Ugh I just went threw this hell- ok I got married in april 05- I havent changed any paperwork yet- so I was going to start with the expire of my passport in august- so my DH surprised me with a HM part 2 next month to Italy on a Med Cruise and he did the tickets in my maiden name- WELL, british airways will NOT allow me on the plane to come home if my passport has my married name and my ticket has my maiden name! AA said it was fine but we are fighting with british airways and they wont let me show my marriage certificate either! so I had to get my passport with my maiden name- had to pay 172 to rush it b/c we were waiting to hear back from supervisors from british airways to find out NO name on passport has to match name on ticket no ifs ands or butts, so now when we get back and I begin to change my name I have to pay AGAIN for a passport!!!!! Im sure if we were going to the carribean it would have been ok- but I guess its b/c we are going to Europe! PIA!!!!!!
