Question about ordering BM dresses at two diff locations.
Is it true that if you are having one of your BM order a dress from a location other then where the rest of your girls are ordering theres from, the color may be a bit off??? One of my girls live in LI (Thats where shes getting her dress from) and the rest of my BP lives here in SI/Brooklyn. They are all getting there dresses here.Thanks...

Re: Question about ordering BM dresses at two diff locations.
That's what I was told by Valentina's for our Jim Hjelm dresses. They suggested we order all the dresses at the same time, that way the dress comes from the same dye fabric lot. The colors will vary (slightly) if done otherwise.

WOW, I had not thought of that possibility. I have 1 BM in FL and another upstate as well as my JBM. Thanks for the ino, I'll have to look into that.

Honestly, it's a personal preference. If you're anal retentive like that and you notice the color difference (if there is one) and it's going to eat away at you the whole day, then order the dresses from one place at the same time.
If you're like me, and won't give a flying squirrel that there's a color difference, f.it...it's convenient for her to order out in LI, let her do so.

Re: Question about ordering BM dresses at two diff locations.
I was once part of a bridal party where all of the dresses wre ordered from the SAME place and my dress was cut from a different bolt of fabric in a different dyelot. It was either cut from the end of one bolt or the beginning of the other. We noticed it right away and the dress had to be remade. If you can notice it with the naked eye, then your pictures will pick it up even more with light shone upon them - especially if you are taking BP pictures inside. I think there is much more room for error when you are dealing with more than one location.

agreed with all the above.
and the colors that you most notice are colors like champange, or navy or even black are the most common to come in different casts of the colors.

I've heard this before too but haven';t actually seen it. I have an oot BM and i'm planning on shipping her dress to her for alterations but ordering it with the rest of the dresses. I don't want to have to worry about the dresses being different colors ( I know something as stupid as that would annoy me)

Re: Question about ordering BM dresses at two diff locations.
It was annoying. This was years ago and there were about 6 of us in the BP. My sister was a plus size back then and her dress had to be a custom job. When we went for our fittings together. She and I both noticed that there was a different cast of light on her dress than on mine. She nearly blew a hissy fit because she felt her dress wasn't made with as much consideration. So we made the salon pull ALL of the dresses from the BP and it turns out it was MY dress that had the error. It was pink taffeta with poufy sleeves, a crinoline, a 'V' front and a big A$$ bow on our butts(80's wedding - ick!) MMMM. Wish I could wear THAT again.Welcome New Vendors
