RP from BHB - DIY Program Help

My FI volunteered us to make programs. Do I need a template or can I just use Word or a similar program? Is this a complicated task? Can it be done in a day? We're running out of time and don't have many free weekends left. Any advice on making programs would be greatly appreciated. TIA.

Re: RP from BHB - DIY Program Help

I used Microsoft Word. I didnt use a template. I guess it can be done in a day if you can spend a couple of hours on it. What type of program are you looking to design? I'll try to help you as much as possible.

Re: RP from BHB - DIY Program Help

Thank you so much for your help. I basically want a program with our names, date, place on the 1st page and a quick outline of the ceremony on the 2nd page. Depending on how things fit, I also want to include the names of the bridal party and a few quick explanations of some of the things in our ceremony b/c we're having a Jewish ceremony and FI's family is not Jewish. On the back I'd like to include a thank you to our parents, family, and friends. I hope we can fit all of this on 4 sides, but I'm not sure. I guess we'll have to play around with it. I just don't really know where to begin.

Re: RP from BHB - DIY Program Help

Ok, first your going to start by going under page setup and choosing landscape. You may also want to change the measurements to give yourself some extra room. Then go under 'format' and choose 'columns'. Choose two columns. Each column will make a 'page'. Be careful with layout, though. You will have to figure out what you want on each page, so when you put it together, it makes sense. If your having 4 pages front and back the layout should print as
page 4
page 1
page 2
page 3

Tricky, but it will make sense once you print it out.

Re: RP from BHB - DIY Program Help

Thank you so much for all of your help. Any recommendations on where to get nice paper for the programs? How much does it cost? Did you print all of the programs on your home printer or did you go somewhere to print it? Thanks again.

I just used MS word - no template. I got nice program paper at Michaels and printed them myself.

I got a shimmer silver cardstock at pickquick in farmingdale. Here's a not so good picture of the cover.

Re: RP from BHB - DIY Program Help

I just bought some fancy gold paper at Pearl Art and used Microsoft Word to do all the writing. I'm not doing booklets... I'm just doing one page programs, then rolling them up, and tying them with gold ribbon.
