Those who have or having Jim Hjelm BM Dresses...
So, I just found out that my church is pretty 'strict' with the whole showing of the shoulders situation, and would like the women to cover their shoulders. When in Rome...do as the Roman's do.
Here's the Jim Hjelm BM Dress we ordered, I was thinking 'shawls' or maybe a really simple 'balero'
Does anyone know if Jim Hjelm has any of this or at least would send me the fabric that I can take to a dress maker?
If, they do have fabric they can send me, does anyone know how much it costs?
TIA!

I believe you can order extra fabric whenever you place your dress order. You want to order it all at the same time so that you know everything comes from the same dye - b/c sometimes if you order things seperately the colors don't exactly match each other. That's why the dress places make you order all the dresses together.

if you just want a swacth that would be free, if you want the fabric it would be a least 25-35 a yard, I know because I asked a bridal salon

The dresses are beautiful. Did you show the church the dress? My temple said no shoulders. My girls are all in strapless. Showed the Rabbi the picture and he oked.

It's a shame to cover up such a beautiful dress. Ask your dressmaker if she can order fabric for you, once the gowns are in (to be sure they match). She might be able to get the fabric for less.

I think what I'm going to do is go with a sheer material....that's okay by the church. The preist distinctively said 'NO SHOULDERS'...I didn't even want to try and show him this dress....most especially b/c boobies are shown!
I'm going to nixx the material buying from JH, and go with a sheer shawl of the same color....

I was in a wedding where the bride wanted shawls.. i do not remember the manufacturer, and were were able to order them. You should def. check with your salon. Another option would be to purchase the fabric from the manufacturer and have a seamstress make them for you...good luck!

If you're going to do this, I recommend going to B&J fabric in the city (garment district). They are very helpful there, the store is huge and I'm sure they'd be able to find you a sheer fabric to match.Welcome New Vendors
