NWR: I hate going food shopping!

Hello ladies,

I've been MIA from the boards for about a week, and I've missed it here! My grandfather passed away last week (may he rest in peace), so I spent all of my time last week with family.

Now it's time to go back to 'normal', and I have to go food shopping today. UGH! Does anyone else hate going food shopping as much as I do? Maybe it's not the food shopping itself that I hate...it might be the fact that it takes so long to unpack everything when I get back. Either way, I'm procrastinating big time!

I'm sorry about your grandfather

I dread food shopping. I hate making the list, unpacking stuff, and I hate that it takes an hour all in all. FH always comes with me, which is nice. But, of all of our chores, it's the one I like the least.

IM SO SORRY ABOUT YOUR GRANDPA!! WE ARE HAPPY TO HAVE YOU BACK ON THE BOARDS THOUGH.

GROCERY SHOPPING IN ANNOYING. ILL CHANGE MY DINNER MENU OR GO OUT JUST TO AVOID IT.

THE ONLY TIME ITS FUN IS WHEN IM HAVING A PARTY AND I CAN BUY GOOD STUFF.

ITS ALWAYS VERY EXPENSIVE TOO! NO MATTER WHAT I DO, I SPEND $40-60 BUCKS A POP!

There is a service in the city called freshdirect.com and I go food shopping online.

They deliver it right into my small kitchen! If I go to the store they have people deliever it also I just tip the guy. One nice thing about life here.

But I do hate food shopping- I live in an apartment building and I have to carry everything in, then up ( elevator) then to by apartment- then go back down and park my car- if there is no cart- it takes me 3 or 4 trips!

I only go every 2 weeks- so that's around $200 worth of food

so annoying!!!

once I have a drive way it will be better

YES!! I agree with this. FH and I are in contract on a house in PA with an attached garage, and I am so excited about not having to unload the groceries from the car in the rain!! I know I am crazy, but it's the little things that make me happy.

food shopping is bad, but meal planning/putting together grocery list is worse! imho.

You just have to make sure you go late at night when the stores are less crowded and when your not hungry.

Sorry to hear about your grandpa.

Surprisingly I'm one of the few that actually like food shopping. FH & I tend to go together & we usually have fun doing it!

Thanks, girls, for all of your kind words in regards to my grandpa. He was truly a great man, but he was quite sick, so he really is better off in heaven than he was here. But I will miss him everyday, esp. on my wedding day.

BTW, I never did go food shopping today...
