Has anyone had someone invite themselves to your wedding?

let me just add this, these people already bought plane tickets!

if so, how did you handle it?

I am so sorry about your situation..... i cant believe some people. we had distant relatives of relatives call to ask my parents when my wedding was... they wanted to send their parents away on vacation and wanted to make sure it didnt interfere with the date of the wedding

as far as handling it, they are on the 'b' list, if that. we are already busting w/ over 285 people on our list and had no intention of inviting them whatsoever. I feel bad but there are many people over them that we would put first!

I AM SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO PISSED OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and mostly at FH for not standing up to these people and telling them ABSOLUTELY NO!

even worse, we are way over the limit of what the room will hold and are praying for NO'S! now this!

I could only imagine how you are feeling!!!! I know my FH wouldnt say anything either.....I mean they already bought the damn plane ticket!!!! People are just so amazing. I would still not send an invitation and see if they get the hint... could you say something to his close friends and maybe they could say something to this crasher???

it's out of my control. this is FH's 'friend' who he told me a few months ago that he can't stand.

We had a friend of DH tell us that not only was he brining a date but he also wanted to bring his mother to our wedding. DH and I both said sorry, but you cannot bring your mom its only friends and OUR family. Well... We walked in to the CH and there he was with a date and his mom!!!!!

I said something to DH but I did not want to cause a scene at the wedding so he did not say anything to his friend. DH has not spoken to him since we have been back from our HM.

Uninvite him...DON'T send an invite! And cut him off! You don't need this loser as a 'friend'. Tell our FH to be strong...I mean, people you care about can't be there!

Although I tell you this from experience, the day of, you won't be care who's there...heck, you may even be happy to see him because you're so glad people came out!

No fighting! I remember all too well all the arguments we had about the guest list (we had 105 guests and 75 of those were his family! ). It's not worth it...he wants him there, let him have it. It's a small 'win' for him and he's not ready to 'stand up' to the guy or feels bad so the damage is done. But don't fight...weddings are so emotional - you two need to be on the same side...and since he got you into it, let him get you through it.
