Major Reception Hall Problem. Please Help

Hi Girls,

I'm new to this board and I need help.
I just found out that my current hall is involved in a lawsuit and due to all the money going towards the lawsuit the service has gone down hill. I need to change reception halls, but im not sure if they are going to give any of my money back.

I'm now looking into Bourne Mansion. Do any of you girls know rates for a January saturday night wedding.

Is there a site fee and per person?

Thanks in advance

Re: Major Reception Hall Problem. Please Help

I am going to my cousin's wedding at the Bourn Mansion and I believe the site fee is like 1,000 not that bad when you compare it to Oheka. I know he is having it on a Sat in Oct...I don't know exactly how much but I know their Borun Mansion wedding will be approx $80,000. Yes that is right with all the zeros there..so it must be very pricey. Sorry I can't offer you anymore info. I can let you know in Oct how the wedding was.
Good Luck!

Re: Major Reception Hall Problem. Please Help

Look on the website, it has some fees listed:

Bourne Mansion

But definitely call Ben and explain your situation, maybe they will be willing to work with you on price since it short notice? Ben was very nice and accomodating when I met with him to see the hall.

Good luck, and I'm so sorry to hear about the situation with your current hall!

I would contact a lawyer if I were you. Have him/her call up the place and give out your demans. They are more likely to follow though if you have a lawyer. I also suggest you purchase wedding insurances. Its worth it!

Re: Major Reception Hall Problem. Please Help

if the hall is in suffolk county, by law they have to give you your deposit back... the law is cited some where on this site if you do a search...

Re: Major Reception Hall Problem. Please Help

The Bourne Mansion is beautiful, but I'm a bit biased. I'm getting married there in April. The site fee is $3900. Ben is a joy to work with there and he is flexible on price, especially if you explain your current situation. Plus, January is one of their slower months so they'll definately give you a ppp break from what's listed on the website. Good Luck.
