Re: stupid seating chart question
I guess the bride's family sits on the side of the room the rbide is at the table and the groom sits on his side? I don't think there's really an etiquette to this at all because rooms are all shaped differently

Re: stupid seating chart question
from my experience, if you were a guest looking at the sweetheart table, the bride would be on the left and the groom would be on the right. So, the bride's family would be on the left of the room and the groom's family on the right.
Although I went to ONE wedding where they messed it up (and I mean it was a mistake- they are Catholic, but accidentally reversed everything)
eta: the funny part was that the bride was on the left side of her table, but her family was on the right side of the room

Re: stupid seating chart question
Well I don't think there is any specific order, but it would seem to me that it depends on where the bride and groom are sitting... the bride's family should sit closest to the bride and the groom's family sit closest to the groom... but I really don't know...

That also makes sense because the bride is to the left at the ceremony.... and now that I think about it has been this way at the few weddings I have been too...

Re: stupid seating chart question
I don't think it matters as long as your family is on the same side as you. FH is a lefty so I'm sitting on the right so we don't bump hands and arms when we eat.
