My first choice is:

'Make you Feel My Love' by Bob Dylan
(Though Garth Brooks version is easier on the ears) I cry every time I hear this song.

A runner up is:

'Have a Little Faith in Me' by John Hiatt

We are having a band and musically, neither song is difficult to play so it shouldn't be hard for them to learn either one.

FH has yet to offer any suggestions and since the flame I lit under his proverbial arse in regard to the honeymoon has yet to catch, I may have to be the one to choose the song.
