Review on the wedding i went to sat night at the sandcastle!!

Food- it all was excellent from the ch to the dinner to cake and the vienisse (sp?) hour it was all A++++( there was no brown salad)
I also must mention that the service was really good they kept our glasses full the entire night and anything we asked for they brought to us. and they were giving out seconds after dinner. that was a nice touch. Really i think i gained 5 pounds from this wedding.

Rooms- i have to admit the ch was too small for the amount of people that she had. there were ch tables in the hallway leading to the ch room. i did not like this.
she had the upstairs room for the reception which was really pretty and plenty of room for everyone in there. my only complaint is that the dj that the wedding down stairs was having was making the dancefloor shake a bit. and you could hear the loud base from the downstairs room.

Band- Arcadia- the band was great nothing else much to say about that. the voices of the singers were outstanding. JMO after dinner they played to many slow songs. they started playing really upbeat songs during the vienesse hour and then knowone wanted to dance because we were all too stuffed.

Flowers- burtons- they had sahara roses, white hydrangas and cala lillies in the centerpieces and they were in candleaberas one tip the flowers were going on fire because the candles were burning quickly so half of the room had to blow out there candles on the centerpices it was a shame because it looked soo pretty.
on another note one of my friends was the moh at the wedding and she said all of the flowers died when they were taking pictures. they all turned brown including the bouts for the guys.

the used cassarino for photo and video. they were all over the place the whole night and didnt miss anything.

Thanks for the review! I am so happy the food was good there and that you enjoyed the Sandcastle. One question what room was the cocktail hour in?

please add a picture of the centerpeice if you can- i was thinking of adding hydrangea to the sahara roses i am using and would really love to see how it looks...

Sounds like the wedding was in the Skyroom- that is the upstairs room. (The guarantee for this room is 135.) I booked the ballroom for my wedding, so my CH will be in the Skyroom, not the reception. When you book the Skyroom for your reception, your CH is in the downstairs CH room, which is quite small and a bit on the cramped side because they try to set it up with tables for everyone to sit (which sometimes means tables in the hallway!) That's why we went with the Skyroom/Ballroom combo...even though we may have a bit of trouble making the 175 minimum....

Soooo glad to hear that the service was good!!! Do you know if they used the SC cake or if they got it elsewhere? SC cakes don't have such a good rep, but I know the venetian hr. is amazing.

i must say the cake was quite yummy it was white cake with lemon curd and rasberry filling with whipped cream. yum!
