Poem for mom (its about time)

Hi...

Today I was at work cleaning old files from my computer when I came across a folder titled 'wedding'. I opened it and found a poem I had stumbled across when I first got engaged. I saved it because it is something I want to give my mom at the rehersal dinner when I plan to give out my bridal party gifts. It put a tear to my eye when i read it again today I want to do something nice with this, like maybe frame it or engrave it on something. (Its pretty long, so I may need to think of some ideas..)

This is one of the most beautiful poems I have ever read and would like to credit the author, but unfortunately I dont know who wrote it.
I hope you ladies enjoy it. You may want to share my idea and dedicate this poem to your mom, dad, grandma.. grandpa.. whomever. its absolutely beautiful... Please let me know of any ideas as to how I should present this as a keepsake.

Poem for mom

How could I possibly thank you enough,
The one who makes me whole,
The one to whom I owe my life,
The forming of my soul.

The one who tucked me in at night,
The one who stopped my crying,
The one who was the expert,
At knowing when I was lying.

The one who makes such sacrifices,
To always put me first,
Who lets me test my broken wings,
In spite of how it hurts.

Who paints the world a rainbow,
When it’s filled with broken dreams,
Who explains it all so clearly,
When nothing is what it seems.

What way is there to thank you,
For your heart, your sweat, your tears,
For ten thousand little things you’ve done,
For oh, so many years.

For changing with me as I changed,
Accepting all my flaws,
Not loving cause you had to,
But loving 'just because.'

For never giving up on me,
When your wits had reached their end,
For always being proud of me,
For being my best friend.

And so I come to realize,
The only way to say,
The only thank you that's enough,
Is clear in just one way.

Look at me before you,
See what I've become,
Do you see yourself in me?
The job that you have done?

All your hopes and all your dreams,
The strength that no one sees.
A transfer over many years,
Your best was passed to me.

Thank you for the gifts you give,
For everything you do,

Oh I LOVE it! I have had such an emotional day and my mom has been there the whole way! It is so touching!

I don't know if this helps but...
Can you have the poem printed or engraved (I know it's long) on something from Things Remembered? It seems like something I know that my mom would hang up if it was on a decorative plate.

i saved it! i will be reading it to my mom at the wedding! With some changes! It is perfect b/c she was a single mom and sacrifieced so much for us! i know that she looks at her children and is so proud of who we become.I love it! it made me cry reading it!! Thank you!

that is beautiful & just brought a tear to my eye...my mom is my best friend & could not thank her enough for who she has made me today! I am saving this thread & giving it to her!!

I cut and pasted it into microsoft word and saved it into my wedding file that poem is beautiful nd made me cry I am at work and one of my brokers asked if I was ok.

I think that things remembered may let you put it on something but they can get expensive I don't know how much they charge per word.

what about those hackichiefs (sp?) can you get it imprinted or embroidered on one of those.

what about seeing if you can get it onto something like these. OR even on a pillow or a throw blanket

I didnt even realize that i was crying and my fi just walked in and asked me what was wrong and why i was crying. it is absolutely beautiful. thank you for sharing it.

After reading this, I immediately emailed it to my FI and said that is sooo perfect to give to my mom. Thank you sooooooooooooooooo much for posting this thread. That poem is absolutely beautiful and I think it would mean so much to have that framed and given to my mom at rehearsal dinner....I love it!! Thank you!!

Aww, that made me teary too and i'm at work so now my coworker is looking at me funny...

That was very beautiful, I think I'm going to give it to my mom too. She moved to another country so I could have better opportunities than she did!
