Catholic Brides - Did anyone take the FOCCUS Test?

My FH and I have to take a FOCCUS Test as part of our Pre-Cana.

Any feedback on what the test is all about or what they do with your results?

It seems a little silly to me!

I thought it was fun - but then again I am a bit of a geek...

It is a multiple choice test about your feelings on everything from family to careers, drugs, gambling, god in your life, divorce, children etc. You just agree/disagree kind of thing. At the second meeting you talk about what they consider to be 'good' results. Ours were ok, not great but it caused us to talk about those scenarios which is the whole purpose.

Then, they send the results to your priest who may or may not look at them.

I thought it was worth it! HTH!

yes i had to take it when you get it back you have to basically compare your answers with Fh and talk about the things you agreed and disagreed on i was actually kind of shocked at some of his answers. I dont know about your church but they seperated us when we took it and told us he wont see it---but he did so some of my answers about his personality i thought were going to cause a fight --but they didnt it was kind of nice to see if we were on the same page with things. we would have gotten more alike answers but he misunderstood alot of the questions - men lol

we took it but never got our results...oh well
i want to have it- but we took it in jan right after we got engaged and booked church date and we havent heard anything- its been a while so i guess we cant get it

we kind of thought it was fun too. we just met with a couple who went over the results with us (which categories we had similar answers in and which ones we didn't), it was very low pressure and kind of fun.

I liked it as well - sorta fun. We took the test last September and we still have not gotten back the results!!!! We have called the parish multiple times, but I don't think they care about us since we are non-parishoners!

We really enjoyed it - our priest told us he was supposed to split us up but that he thought that was silly since it was designed to be a tool to open communication about important issues - so we took it together and discussed it as we took it - then we had the results reviewed by a married couple. Ours was fun, b/c the woman wasn't like 'this is what the church says...' she said you should just make sure you're ok with each others' answers.

FH and I went through ours together...we had fun with it....we have been together over 5 years so we already know our 'problem' areas!

we did very very bad! we put a lot of undecided and it turns out that is the wrong answer! oh well. it's not like we're not going to get married. I was very upset at first and then we sat down and went through the things we got 'wrong' and it wasn't so bad. he put I drank too much as a joke too! I hope the priest wasn't paying attention.

we also took it seperately. didn't discuss any of the actual questions until we got it back.

we took it seperately and later compared answers with each other. We got a ridiculously high score, so I was happy with that! I think it's awesome.. pretty interesting to see how you think differently on certain things..

We took it & were told by the Deacon that we scored the best he has ever seen! In my opinion a lot of the questions on there were things that FH & I had already dicussed. They involved, family, careers, drinking, sex, gambling, family issues, religion, money etc...

It was acutally a fun test & found it very enlighting

It sounds like a fun test, we will have to take it sometime next year and now listening to everyone that has taken it already I am excited!
