Bridesmaid dress question--how many fittings?

I know that us brides have 3 fittings for our dresses, but how many do the bridesmaids have? Is it just one after the dresses are ordered, or are there two? Also, how close to the wedding should these fittings be done? Thanks!

my bridesmaids dresses JUST came in so I can let you know what they told me.

I believe they go in 2 times, one time to get measured to see what needs to be altered. 2nd time to try it on and pick it up. That's it!
I'm not sure what happens in the scenario that there's something wrong with the tailoring...but i'm keeping my fingers crossed that we won't have to worry about that.

I don't think that they usually have the fittings more than a couple months from the wedding. (Although I've been notoriously last minute with everything wedding related!)

I was a bridesmaid recently and I went to two fittings before taking the gown home.

ETA: my first was a month before the wedding, the second one was two weeks later.

they took a month to come in and my sister needed one fitting then she tried it on, it was oerfect so she took it home. All in all about 2 months.

I think it depends on the gown and where you're ordering from - we wore Bill Levkoff, ordered through Bridal Reflections in Massapequa and they took four months to come in.

I bought a Bm dress recently. It was 3 fittings--We just did as many as I needed to make the dress right and it turned out to be 3, could have been 1, though but it came out better this way. The seamstress and I both agreed that we needed the extra fittings.
