That's a long play list. Keep in mind with announcements, dances, dinner music etc. the average wedding only has about 40 songs.

As a former dj, JMO, but you have to allow for some creativity from your dj.

Not only that, but 95% of those songs are long, dragged out, and boring.

I don't know if you like the era of music but the Motown songs got my guests out and dancing: Jackson 5, Aretha Franklin, 'Ain't to Proud to Beg' by the Temptations, etc. Also popular were the Grease mix, the Twist, and the 70s music - the Bee Gees, 'We Are Family,' etc.

You're not really giving your DJ a lot of freedom. I think one of the things that makes a good DJ is the ability to 'read' a crowd and know what to play based on them. A wedding is about 40 songs and a DJ will ask you for only 10-12

My DJ said a lot of brides make playlists for the whole wedding. I agree with these girls. I think you should pick your favorite ones out of that list and then let the DJ do the rest. I know its tough, believe me. I started my must play list and there are way too many.
